Jonathan Ross 'learning Japanese'

Jonathan Ross is hoping to become fluent in Japanese before filming a new programme about the country, it has been claimed.

The TV presenter has visited Japan on a number of occasions and is trying to improve his language skills before making a new special about Japanese culture, The People reports.

A source said: "He has filmed in Japan several times but he wants to really communicate with the locals. He is already at a fairly high standard."

Ross reportedly started learning the language after his return from suspension from the BBC earlier this year.
