Hudson: 'I was always a mama's baby'

Jennifer Hudson has revealed details of her relationship with her late mother Darnell Donerson.

The Academy Award-winner spoke briefly about her deceased parent in an interview with Essence magazine, People reports.

She said: "I was always a mama's baby. I'd go and sleep in her bed until I was 15 years old."

Hudson’s fiancé David Otunga said that the pair do not discuss the murder of the singer’s mother, brother and nephew last year.

He said: "In this time when things seem so uncertain for her, there is certainty in our bond. She doesn't have to worry about losing me. I'm always going to be right here."

Hudson, who recently re-proposed to Otunga, revealed that she finds solace in a higher power.

She added: "The thing that keeps me going is knowing that God is in control. It's like, if He placed me here then I must be prepared."
