Rapper DMX released from prison

DMX has been released from prison after serving a 90-day sentence for drugs, theft and animal cruelty charges.

The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, left the Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix, Arizona yesterday on a $10,000 bond.

Speaking to The AP, his lawyer said: "He's extremely happy that he's home. We look forward to being able to handle his case with him out of custody."

Simmons is due back in court later this month to face additional charges of aggravated assault and probation violation following allegations that he threw a tray of food at a prison guard.
