The pop legend was assured that his disease is fully treatable after receiving the news from doctors recently, The Sun reports.
It is believed that spots of skin cancer were found on Jackson's upper body, along with pre-cancerous cells on his face.
The star has apparently vowed that his health setback will not threaten his forthcoming 50-date residency at London's O2 arena, which begins on July 8.
A source told the newspaper: "He was at first very concerned, but says he has been assured by the doctors that they can treat this and he will recover.
"Michael is really looking forward to his concerts and is determined to wow his fans at each and every gig. He said he's insisted that any treatment must fit around the concerts, and the show will go on."
The news follows previous speculation that Jackson could be "too frail" to perform at his London shows.
