Danny Dyer has apologised for branding Mathew Horne a "rubbish" actor.

The Football Factory star made his remarks just days after Horne collapsed on a West End stage last month.

Speaking at the time, Dyer claimed: "Mathew Horne is one of the worst actors I've ever seen in my life. He's just got nothing about him, the geezer. No substance and no depth."

He added: "Mat is absolute rubbish."

However, in a new interview with the Daily Star Sunday, Dyer has admitted that he regrets his outburst against the Gavin & Stacey actor.

Reflecting on the incident, he commented: "Looking back, I was out of order to have a go at Mat. Especially after he'd just collapsed on stage."

Dyer added that he has now hired a publicist who will attempt to put a stop to his public rants.
