LaBeouf: 'I went on date with Rihanna'

Shia LaBeouf has confirmed speculation that he once went on a date with Rihanna, but admits that "the spark wasn't there".

Speaking to Playboy, the 22-year-old admitted that he had asked the singer out while filming Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull in 2007.

"[I was] filming a sword fight when I got the [text] message. I said to myself, 'Can this be my life?'" he explained.

"It never got beyond one date. The spark wasn't there. We weren't passionate about each other in that way, so we remain friends."

The actor also hinted at an attraction between himself and Transformers co-star Megan Fox, saying: "We were very smart. We're attracted to each other, and I think you can see that in our scenes together.

"It's very real and tangible, and you can tell something exists. We could be shooting, and the relationship is suddenly on the rocks and then what? So we just never did anything about it."
