Gervais visits White House in pyjamas

Ricky Gervais has revealed that he visited the White House in his pyjamas.

The Office star said that his best clothes were at the cleaners when he was sent a last-minute invite to visit President Obama, leaving him no choice but to turn up in a t-shirt and loose-fitting lounge wear, Contact Music reports.

"So [longtime partner] Jane and I, Ben Stiller and family...were invited to the White House," he wrote on his blog.

"We had a convoy of black limos waiting. All my smart clothes were at the hotel dry cleaners. We couldn't be late and couldn't miss the opportunity. There was only one solution. I went in my pyjamas (absolutely true). Thank you."

Gervais is currently at work on the project Cemetary Junction with Extras and Office co-creator Stephen Merchant.
