The Charlie's Angel star, who is reported to have split from British model Paul Sculfor earlier this month, spent around an hour dining with Levine at the Chateau Marmont garden restaurant.
Speaking to X17 Online, one onlooker said: "They looked really excited to be together. It didn't seem like the first time they met - they were comfortable with each other.
"Cameron was laughing at all of Adam's jokes and they seemed like such a perfect match. They were even dressed alike!"
Diaz, 36, has yet to comment on reports that she has ended her one year relationship with Sculfor. She previously dated Justin Timberlake and Jared Leto, while Levine has been linked to a string of Hollywood stars including Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton and Natalie Portman.
