Cruz gets food poisoning at Cannes

Penelope Cruz missed promoting her upcoming movie Nines at Cannes on Monday due to "some sort of food poisoning".

The actress was scheduled to appear at a press conference with movie mogul Harvey Weinstein to present a trailer and teaser for the film, People reports.

"She is getting better and is seeing a doctor right now," Weinstein told reporters.

Nines also stars Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Judi Dench, Fergie and Daniel Day-Lewis.

Cruz' latest film Broken Embraces will also premiere at Cannes on Tuesday night.
