Cynthia Nixon discusses wedding plans

Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon has spoken out about her recent engagement to long-time girlfriend Christine Marinoni.

The actress, who plays lawyer Miranda Hobbs in the drama, confirmed that she was planning to wed the educational activist during a gay rights rally in New York at the weekend.

Speaking to Extra, she said: "My girlfriend and I got engaged last month. We're hoping to do it in New York. We're not going to wait forever, but we're hoping it's just around the corner.

"Sometime, l think, before the end of next summer, but we don't have a date."

Nixon added that while she was wearing an engagement ring, Marinoni had opted not too but that she would don a wedding ring following the nuptials.

The couple have been dating since 2003, following Nixon's split from husband of 13-years Danny Mozes, the father of her two children.
