Price: 'Split not caused by my drinking'

Katie Price has spoken out about her split from Peter Andre, describing it as the "worst week of my life".

Speaking to OK!, the former glamour model admitted that she is "fine" but still "really devastated" by Andre's decision to end their three-and-a-half-year marriage.

"I can't sit around crying. I love my husband... [but] this is a new story and a new chapter in my life and I know the truth," The Mirror quotes her as saying.

"Pete can't blame this on me drinking. I hardly ever go out and over the five years of our relationship I have probably been out 20 times - which is unusual for a woman of 30. I'm not a party girl and I don't drink at home, so when I go out I can get drunk quickly."

She went on to insist that the break-up was "absolutely not a publicity stunt" and that she would "not be giving any interviews".

Earlier this week, Price thanked fans for their support and claimed that she was going to maintain a "dignified silence" in the press.
