Rimes home sale 'not related to affair'

LeAnn Rimes and husband Dean Sheremet have put their Nashville home on the market.

The pending sale of the $7.45 million property is down to the performer's need to relocate and not because of her alleged affair with actor Eddie Cibrian, People reports.

"She's been receiving more offers in the film, TV and theatre worlds, so they want to have a footprint in all three cities," a friend said.

Rimes, 26, co-starred with Cibrian, 35, in the television movie Northern Lights when rumours of an affair between the pair began to spread.

It is understood that the 'How Do I Live' singer and her songwriter husband are currently working on their marriage.

"[LeAnn and Dean] are still having challenges and trying to work through them. They're working on their marriage," the pal added.

However, Rimes was seen talking to Cibrian at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game on Sunday, an occurrence the friend cited as "totally random" .

Rimes is recording a new country album due in the autumn.
