Kills star denies White Stripes fight

The Kills star Alison Mosshart has blasted rumours that she was involved in a fight with Jack White as "ridiculous".

Tabloid reports earlier claimed that the pair, who are collaborating for new band The Dead Weather, started brawling after drinking heavily at a New York bar.

"I don't usually bother responding to ridiculous fabricated tabloid rumours, but this one is particularly grotesque," she said.

"The stories circulating from a UK tabloid of a 'fist fight', or Jack punching me, or the two of us 'being at each other's throats' are untrue.

"I'm just wrapping up a tour with The Kills and then I'll be back with The Dead Weather for the release of the album and a tour. It's a really great group of people to work with and I can't wait for everyone to hear the album."

The Dead Weathers kick off a North American tour in Louisville, Kentucky on June 11.
