The actress has not released an album since 2002's BareNaked, which was produced by 'Bitch' singer Meredith Brooks.
"Jennifer is writing a country song. I really want to make her a demo for her music," Kennedy told People.
"I think she should be singing again, she's so good."
Hewitt's discography also includes a self-titled record from 1996, as well as 1995's Let's Go Bang.
