The Heroes star, 19, recently had the Italian phrase 'Vivere senza rimpianti', which rougly means 'To live without regrets', inked across her back.
However, recent photographs of the actress in a bikini have revealed that the word "rimpianti" has been spelled with an incorrect extra "i".
Panettiere is not the first star to have misspelled body art - earlier this year, it was claimed that Rihanna's latest Sanskrit tattoo had also been wrongly written.
