Pattinson auctions kisses for $20,000

Robert Pattinson has auctioned two kisses for $20,000 (£12,600) each to raise money for an AIDS charity.

The Twilight star, 23, took to the stage at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS 2009 cocktail party at the Cannes Film Festival to offer the chance for a fan to meet him and receive a kiss on the cheek.

Introducing him, movie mogul Harvey Weinstein joked that his own three daughters would jump at the opportunity, having decided to change their surnames to Pattinson after watching the vampire romance.

The bidding was eventually split between two winners, who each paid $20,000 for their daughters to meet the British star.

Other celebrities who were raising money at the auction included Joshua Jackson, Diane Kruger, Josh Hartnett and Danny Glover.
