Diaz: 'My dad's death took its toll'

Cameron Diaz has opened up about the loss of her father.

The My Sister's Keeper star revealed that she was left devastated when Emilio Diaz died suddenly of pneumonia last year, at the age of 58.

The 36 year-old actress told Vogue: "I think, emotionally, it definitely took its toll."

Diaz, who reports claim recently split from model Paul Sculfor, also added how she has come to terms with loss.

"Definitely. It is the human experience. You know, that is what the heart does. Things are given to us, and things are taken away. And I think the heart becomes stronger, more capable."
