Speaking to Hello!, the 'If U Seek Amy' star admitted that it was Madonna who encouraged her to allow Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James to travel with her 'Circus' show.
"It’s all about history. What we as mothers are doing is creating history with our kids that we can look back on," she explained.
"When they’re adults I want my kids to say 'Mum worked so hard, but she was always there for us'."
Spears, who recently vacationed with her sons in the Caribbean, reportedly paid her ex-husband Kevin Federline $5,000 a week to accompany the children on the North American leg of her tour.
Recently, an attorney for the aspiring rapper insisted that he was "more than happy" to facilitate a similar arrangement for her European dates, which start in London next week.
