Richard Gere: 'My brother is gay'

Richard Gere has spoken out in support of same-sex marriage and has revealed his brother is gay, it has been reported.

According to Female First, the actor has disclosed that he is offended by the California Supreme Court's decision to uphold a gay marriage ban.

Gere said: "My brother is gay and he got married in that brief period when gay marriage was allowed in California.

"He has two great kids and is a wonderful father."
