Danny La Rue dies, aged 81

Born Daniel Patrick Carroll in Ireland, La Rue was one of Britain's best known drag artists and was awarded the OBE in 2002.
La Rue lived with his manager and partner Jack Hanson for many years until Hanson's death from a stroke in 1974.
He famously played the role of Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly! in 1982 and was a regular pantomime performer.
La Rue most recently appeared in the autobiographical Hello Danny at Benidorm Palace, Spain, in November 2007.
