The Black Hawk Down star was arrested earlier this month on a $25,000 outstanding warrant for violating the terms of his sentence in a 2007 drug case.
According to TMZ, he checked into a rehab facility on Friday to begin taping the third season of the VH1 reality show, which follows celebrities on a 21-day detox programme in Los Angeles.
The 47-year-old was given three years' probation following an arrest in 2007 on seven drug-related charges. He later served 16 months in prison for violating the terms of his trial period.
The reality show, hosted by Dr Drew Pinsky, was recently renewed for a further season. Other celebrities expected to appear this year include Sizemore's former girlfriend Heidi Fleiss, basketball star Dennis Rodman and actress Mackenzie Phillips.
