Pattinson: 'Non-kiss was Stewart's idea'

Robert Pattinson has admitted that it was his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart's idea to tease the audience when they accepted an MTV award for best kiss.

The pair, who scooped the prize for their embrace in the vampire romance, came close to reenacting the moment during their acceptance speech, before pulling apart and thanking the voters.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he said: "[It] was Kristen's idea. My ideas were so terrible they were rejected. So, I'm happy she helped me two minutes before it happened!"

Stewart added: "That was my big idea. I'm not going to kiss you!"

Twilight dominated this year's MTV Movie Awards, picking up five gongs including best picture, best male breakthrough performance for Pattinson and best female performance for Stewart.
