MTV confirms Eminem, Cohen prank staged

The head writer of last weekend's MTV Movie Awards has confirmed speculation that the incident between Sacha Baron Cohen and Eminem was staged, says Extra.

Cohen caused mayhem when he descended semi-naked from the roof of the auditorium, before crash landing on top of Eminem, causing him to storm out of the venue in anger.

Writing on his official blog, Scott Aukerman said: "Yes, the Bruno/Eminem incident was staged. That's all anyone wants to talk about, so let's get it out of the way.

"They rehearsed it at dress and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show then."

Speculation that the stunt had been planned was fuelled by the fact that the rapper was wearing a microphone during Cohen's entrance and that the camera was already focused on him.

Aukerman has since removed the post from his blog.

Previously, it was reported that socialite Paris Hilton was initially approached to take part in the prank but turned down the offer.
