Jolie, Pitt deny latest split rumours

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have laughed off the continual speculation that they are close to splitting.

The couple spoke out after the National Enquirer fuelled rumours of an impending separation by claiming that they were preparing to announce an "official split" within the next few days.

However, a representative for Pitt told Us Weekly that the report is "absolutely not true", while Jolie's spokesperson branded the claims "not true at all".

The Enquirer had suggested that the split was cemented by an alleged fight between Jolie and Pitt at a Cannes Film Festival party, although a friend of the couple insisted that they are happier than ever.

Speaking to Us, the source said: "They have their fights and moments, but generally things are good. They are happy and Brad loves being a father."

A guest at the Cannes party also dismissed rumours of an argument, saying: "They had lots of fun and looked so in love. At one point, they were dancing."

Jolie and Pitt, who met on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith, have been together since 2005 and are parents to six young children.
