Hart asks fans to 'pray' for mum

Melissa Joan Hart has revealed that her mother underwent brain surgery earlier this week.

The actresses's parent had an eight-hour procedure to remove a brain tumour, People reports.

"All of my six siblings and I gathered at my house and the hospital for the entire week to be strong for each other," the 33-year-old said. "She is out of the woods and on her way to recovery, luckily she is a good healer and has seven children to lend a hand in times like these."

The former Sabrina The Teenage Witch star added that prayer is "a big part" of her life and that she believes it was "crucial" for her mother's recovery.

"I ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she fights her way to a full recovery," she told fans.
