The Fall Out Boy rocker has joined forces with Image Comics to create a five-issue miniseries called Toyworks about a cyborg girl called Tiffany. Details of the storyline are being kept under wraps.
Wentz, who created the character alongside designer Darren Romanelli, has admitted that the idea was loosely inspired by Fall Out Boy track 'Tiffany Blews', which appeared on last year's Folie A Deux album.
"Me and Darren came up with the idea of creating...a world around 'Tiffany Blews'," he explained. "It's more than a comic too. In the end, it will be a graphic novel, clothing, web site and possible toys themselves."
It is thought that the series will take place in a futuristic world and the first issue will be available on September 2.
Wentz is not the first musician to launch his own comic book. Last year, My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way released the successful Umbrella Academy which is currently being adapated for the big screen.
