Nude Carla Bruni photo sells for €13,090

A naked photograph of Carla Bruni has sold for €13,090 (£11,500) at an auction in Germany this afternoon, it has emerged.

The gelatin silver print of the photograph of French president Nicolas Sarkozy's wife was taken in 1994 by Pamela Hanson.

It had originally been expected to raise up to €3,500 at the auction by Villa Grisebach in Berlin, Amateur Photographer reports.

The sale of Carla Bruni In Bed follows the auction of a 1993 Michael Comte nude of the model last year for £46,000.

Bruni previously launched a legal action to stop a clothing company using a naked image of her on its bags.
