De Niro 'confronted by drunk fan'

Robert De Niro has been accosted by a drunk female fan, say reports.

According to WENN, police were called to the set of De Niro's new film Stone in Michigan on Friday.

Production on the movie, which sees the actor star opposite Milla Jovovich and Edward Norton, has been at a halt following the disruption caused by the alleged incident.

The woman, named by TMZ as Carlyn Campbell, was reportedly put on a breathalyser and admitted to a local hospital.

It is currently unknown if Campbell will face charges over the reported confrontation.

Representatives for De Niro are yet to comment.
