Stars boycott restaurant to save fish

Elle Macpherson and Charlize Theron have signed a petition boycotting a London restaurant for serving an environmentally threatened fish.

The pair, along with Sting, Woody Harrelson and Alicia Silverstone, are all among the celebrities refusing to eat at Nobu London until the nearly extinct bluefin tuna is taken off the menu, E! reports.

"As customers and fans of Nobu we strongly feel that bluefin tuna must be completely removed from your menu due to it's perilous position as an extremely endangered animal," the petition reads.

It continues: "Nobu is a restaurant we all love, a world leader in sushi with a fantastic reputation and enormous influence. If Nobu took a definitive stand on this issue it could make a critical difference."

The restaurant has reportedly added a disclaimer to the menu noting that the fish is threatened and advising concerned customers to "ask the server for an alternative".
