Witherspoon children 'embarrassed by her'

Reese Witherspoon has revealed that her two children are "embarrassed" by her.

The Oscar-winning actress said that Ava, 9, and six-year-old Deacon often tell her that she is "being really stupid".

However, the star did claim that her recent stint in animated flick Monsters Vs. Aliens earned her some respect from her kids.

"My children are embarrassed at me all the time. They're like 'Mum, you're being really stupid'," she told Fox News.

"When Monsters Vs. Aliens came out Ava told me I'm the coolest mum in the third grade. I said 'Can you put it on a piece of paper and sign it for me please'. I was cool once."

It was recently announced that Nickelodeon has ordered a pilot for a television series of the DreamWorks film.
