Van Outen, Byrne for Edinburgh Fringe

Organisers have unveiled the full lineup for this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Denise Van Outen will bring her one-woman musical comedy Blondes to the event.

Other stars booked to appear include The Streets, ex-Talking Heads man David Byrne, comedian Stewart Lee and TV personality Clive James.

Chief executive Kath Mainland said: "The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the greatest arts festival in the world. Nowhere else can you see such a variety of world-class talent and such a range of work and ideas in one place.

"Companies have travelled from over 60 countries to take part in the Fringe and I look forward to welcoming visitors from all over the world to this great festival city in August."

Fringe 2009 takes place at venues across Edinburgh from August 7 to 31 and encompasses over 2,000 individual shows.
