The former Grange Hill and EastEnders star released two albums and a clutch of singles in the mid-'90s as part of a short-lived foray into music.
Maguire told Metro: "I feel bad for the people of Britain that I put them through it but I'm hoping, over time, they may forgive me."
When asked if his transformation into a costumed hero for upcoming comedy Kröd Mändoon was difficult, he said: "Everything is a stretch for me.
"I'm wildly unskilled at what I do. Part of me thinks: 'Why do I think I can pull this off?' but the part of me that has to pay the mortgage thinks: 'Just get on with it!' I'll just keep going until someone discovers I'm no good."
