Lindsay Lohan's dad backs Dr Drew

Lindsay Lohan's father has given his support to celebrity medic Dr Drew Pinsky.

The Mean Girls star recently criticised Pinksy for publicly discussing her personal life, suggesting that he is not a "real" doctor.

Michael Lohan told ABC News: "Dr Drew has what it takes to help anyone that has any kind of problem.

"It doesn't have to be drugs, it doesn't have to be alcohol, it can be any kind of emotional or psychological problem."

He added: "She's out there drinking and partying and she should not be doing that. People see her drinking. She should stay away from it.

"With the drugs, I think she's in a much better place than she used to be. But I have a problem with her being even on prescription medication."

Sources close to Lindsay have reportedly suggested that she has been offered a six-figure sum to appear on Pinsky's VH1 show Celebrity Rehab With Dr Drew.
