Actor Johnny Palermo dies, aged 27

Actor Johnny Palermo has died at the age of 27.

The Everybody Hates Chris star was killed in a car crash on Thursday morning. His girlfriend Alessandra Giangrande, who was driving the car, also passed away.

Giangrande lost control of the vehicle and struck several parking meters, a light pole and a building, says The Hollywood Reporter. The couple was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Rochester, New York native also appeared in Cold Case, General Hospital, Passions, CSI: Miami, How I Met Your Mother and ER as well as upcoming indie comedy Pizza With Bullets.

"To see it end so tragically just breaks your heart. I'm just in awe. He still had so much to do - a ball of fire with a life to live," said Palermo's father.
