The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star only recently split from model Justin Gaston, 20, but has already been linked to another romance.
"Steve relocated to the US after signing his deal with Disney," a source told The Sun. "Miley couldn't wait for him to move. He first met her on the set of the Hannah Montana film after he was asked to play lead guitar for her band.
"They hit it off straight away. When they have been apart they have been spending hours instant messaging each other. She is still young but she is smitten with him. They are very much in love."
Rushton, 21, who left UK pop-punk band Son Of Dork in 2008, is currently working on a solo album in America with Hollywood Records. His first solo release 'Emergency' featured in the Disney adventure movie Race To Witch Mountain.
