Sarah Palin 'refuses' David Letterman apology
Sarah Palin has refused to accept David Letterman's apology for making a controversial joke about her 14-year-old daughter.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Late Show host said that he regretted making a quip about Palin's daughter Willow, when he intended to aim it at her eldest, pregnant Bristol, 18.

In reference to the politician's recent family outing to a New York Yankees baseball game, Letterman said: "There was one awkward moment during the seventh-inning stretch when her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

The Alaska governor told the Today show that the comedian was using a "convenient excuse" by claiming he wasn't targeting Willow.

"I would like to see him apologise to young woman across our country for contributing to that thread that is throughout our culture that makes it sound like it is okay to talk about young girls in that way, where it's kind of okay, accepted and funny to talk about statutory rape," she said.

She added: "It's not cool. It's not funny."
