Actor and comedian Bill Cosby has announced his plans to donate at least $1 million to a planned US National Slavery Museum.
Cosby said that he would give away proceeds from 10 concerts, which museum officials have estimated will bring between $1 million and $1.5 million.
"We need history," Cosby explained. "We need proof for our children - to see the strength of their ancestors."
The museum will open in 2007.
