Usher officially files for divorce

Usher has reportedly confirmed speculation that he has filed for divorce from wife Tameka Foster.

A US tabloid had claimed that the R&B star was considering a legal separation from his partner of nearly two years. It was also reported that the couple had been living apart for nearly a year.

According to People, the 30-year-old filed legal papers requesting an official separation at the Atlanta Superior Court on Friday. No reason for the separation has been given.

Sources have revealed that the night before the papers were filed, the singer was seen chatting with friends at LA's MyHouse nightclub, while Foster was spotted attending a film screening in Atlanta with their eldest son.

Usher tied the knot with Foster, his former stylist, in an Atlanta lawyer's office in August 2007. They are parents to two children: Usher Raymond V, 18 months, and six-month-old Naviyd.
