Stephen Fry 'no longer f***ing nice'

Stephen Fry has said that he is a happier person since he took the advice to stop being so polite.

The presenter told the Daily Mail that he used to spend too much time trying to adapt to what other people wanted.

Fry said: "John Cleese once told me I would never be happy unless I stopped 'being so f**king polite all the time'.

"I have spent much of my life trying to please people, trying to be what they wanted me to be rather than what I actually wanted to be."

He added: "What he meant was that I needed to stand up for myself. So I have done that.

"Now I consider I have reached the point where, to use my friend's immortal words, I am no longer quite as f***ing nice as I used to be. Without being rude, of course."
