The 'Disturbia' star has been called as a witness on June 22 in relation to the allegation that ex-boyfriend Brown attacked her in the early hours of February 8.
Speaking to CNN, a spokesperson for the LA Superior Court confirmed that the judge had declined media requests to film the singer's testimony.
Brown, 20, has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and making criminal threats in relation to the incident.
Rihanna is just one of the witnesses subpoenaed by the prosecution for the preliminary hearing, which will decide whether there is enough evidence to bring the matter to trial.
Her lawyer previously said that she "will answer all questions truthfully" during her appearance.
If Brown is convicted, he could be sentenced to up to four years and eight months in prison.
