DJ Sonique cancer spreads further

Brit Award winner Sonique has been told by doctors that she will require further surgery because her breast cancer has spread.

The DJ, 40, was admitted to Harley Street clinic earlier this week as a matter of urgency. She was originally only expected to remain in hospital until the weekend.

However, test results received yesterday show that the musician's body has not been cleared of cancer. The disease has moved to lymph nodes under her arms and possibly her organs, reports Sky News.

"Sonique has been taken back into theatre for another operation as the cancer has spread," said her agent Stuart Watts.

Sonique, who started her career in reggae band Fari, shot to mainstream fame with the number one single 'It Feels So Good' in 2000. She was scheduled to release new single 'World Of Change' and tour Europe this summer, but her music plans are currently on hold.
