Farrah Fawcett 'hospitalised in California'

Farrah Fawcett has been taken to hospital after suffering a deterioration in her health, according to reports.

The former Charlie's Angels star has been battling anal cancer for three years. She had been given the all-clear in 2007, but the disease later returned.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the 62-year-old is currently resting in a southern California hospital but is expected to be discharged later today.

Fawcett's long-term lover Ryan O'Neal is thought to be negotiating for their son Redmond to temporarily leave rehab in order to visit his mother. He is currently serving a year-long programme on drugs charges.

O'Neal, 68, recently admitted that he was planning to marry Fawcett. The pair have been dating on and off since the 1980s.
