'Dad's Army' star Bean dies, aged 82

The actor, who played Private Sponge in the long-running show, passed away at Wigan Infirmary on Saturday, says BBC News.
He had been living at the Wickham Hall Care Home in Springfield until his death.
Bean made his last public appearance at a 40th anniversary celebration for Dad's Army at the Thetford Dad's Army Museum last year. He had been the club's patron for many years.
His autobiography Who Do You Think You Are Kidding? was published in 1998 and has run into three editions.
