Brown, 20, has been ordered to stay at least 50 yards away from the 'Disturbia' star for the next five years except at public events, where the distance has been reduced to ten yards. Rihanna is not allowed to contact Brown either.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, attorney Donald Etra said: "Rihanna requested that there only be a protective order, namely that Chris be ordered not to annoy, molest, or harass her.
"Rihanna did not feel that a stay-away order was necessary in this case.
"The current order lasts for five years, although the judge said that after Chris is sentenced in August, she would consider reducing the full stay-away order to a limited protective order."
The order came after Brown pleaded guilty to one felony charge of assault in relation to an alleged altercation with Rihanna on February 8.
Rihanna, 21, had been expected to testify at yesterday's preliminary hearing but escaped giving evidence after Brown struck a plea deal. Etra added that his client had "no objection" to the plea.
Brown will be formally sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service in August. He must also complete a year-long domestic violence course and pay fines.
