Sonique "tired" after cancer surgery

DJ Sonique has admitted that she is exhausted after undergoing two operations for breast cancer.

The singer, real name Sonia Clarke, was diagnosed with the disease last week and had emergency surgery after it emerged that the cancer had spread.

"I'm tired, it's a big thing," she said. "I'm basically getting used to the fact that I have to take it easy. It's a big deal, so it's going to be quite quiet for a while.

"It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life, but I'm sure people have had harder things to deal with as well.

"I really appreciate what the doctors have done for me, and the nurses - you don't appreciate those people enough until you really need them like now. They've been my angels at the moment, for the last week and a bit."

Sonique enjoyed a number one single 'It Feels So Good' in 2000. She previously held a permanent residency at the Manumission nightclub in Ibiza.

The release of her new single 'World Of Change' has now been postponed.
