Phil Spector has made a request for a television set, an iPod and a computer to be installed in his prison cell, it has been reported.

The former music producer was moved to a "sensitive needs unit" this week, while as a medium-security inmate, Spector is allowed to seek comforts for his new cell, Fox News reports.

His wife Rachelle said that he has already made out a list of items. "He wants a TV and an iPod or something like that for listening to music. And he would like to be able to receive email."

Prison officials have said that the prisoner would be allowed to acquire a musical instrument, however, Rachelle said that it is doubtful that her spouse will ask for such an item.

She added: "He has not requested an instrument, and I doubt if he will."

He was found guilty in April of murdering actress Lana Clarkson in 2003. He is serving a 19 year to life sentence in California's largest state prison Corcoran.
