The former View co-host is to launch a two-hour daily programme on Sirius XM Radio, while she said that the deal came about because of DJ Howard Stern, People reports.
"He's been very encouraging," she told the AP. "After I did his show, they called and asked if I was interested. I don't really listen to radio, so I started thinking about it and listening.
"I asked if they could possibly do it at my house because that would really make it convenient for me with four kids, and they said yes, so I was like, 'Wow. Let's try that'."
O’Donnell will host the show from a recording site inside a guesthouse, currently under construction, in the New York residence that she owns with her partner Kelli Carpenter and their four children.
She last hosted a variety show in November for NBC.
