Jackson autopsy 'will be done today'

The Los Angeles Coroner's Office has confirmed numerous reports that Michael Jackson has died, aged 50.

The 'Thriller' star was pronounced dead at 2.26pm (9.26pm GMT) today after being given CPR. Paramedics arrived at his California home following a 911 call.

"All we know is he was transported by paramedics in an ambulance in cardiac arrest with CPR in progress," a spokesperson for the coroner's office told The Times.

"We have no confirmation of anything beyond that he was taken from a residence in cardiac arrest. Nothing has been notified beyond that to the coroner."

It is being reported that an autopsy will be completed on Jackson later today.
