Oxman claimed that the star was using "extensive" amounts of medication to deal with past injuries including a broken back and broken leg in the run-up to his residency at London's 02 arena.
The 50-year-old singer passed away at a Los Angeles hospital last night after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest.
Oxman told CNN that Jackson's family had been trying to "take care of him" for months, adding: "[But] the people who have surrounded him have been enabling him. If you think the case of Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, that is nothing compared to what has taken place in the life of Michael Jackson.
"I do not know what medications he was taking, but the reports that we have received within the family are that they were extensive.
"I can tell you for sure that this is something I warned about. Where there is smoke there is fire."
