Jackson was pronounced dead yesterday at 2.26pm local time (9.26pm GMT) after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest. He passed away aged 50 at the UCLA Medical Centre.
Geller, who was a close friend of Jackson, told Sky News: "He was in good shape... I'm not a doctor, but I can only assume he was under immense stresses and pressures, and you can ask any doctor - stress is a killer."
Paying tribute to his friend, he added: "He was a happy man when fans were around - he drank their love. He loved what he did, but somewhere in his deep dark corners of his heart, he was a confused man and a lonely person. The reason was because nobody could understand him.
"He is in heaven now, a better place than us. God rest his soul."
Earlier, Geller argued that Jackson's planned 50-date residency at London's O2 arena was too ambitious.
